Obsessed with the Seiko SPB213

It took me a while to figure out how much I liked Seiko watches; there were too many models and variations to choose from and it's always been hard for me to figure out what I think of them.

Eventually the 62MAS caught my eye, which was a faithful re-issue of one of Sekio’s first diving watches back in the 60s. And then a few years after that, they came out with other models such as the SPB143, SPB147 and SPB149 which were more affordable versions of the 62MAS. Recently though, I finally found my favorite: the SPB213j which is a special edition release and has all my favorite features, plus an unusual & beautiful dial and bezel colour.

Seeing it in person

The watch has a very well made white sunburst dial with a bluish black bezel which almost feels like it's ceramic. Plus, the dial makes it stand out among the usual dark dial divers. So I decided to finally get one for myself!

Bracelet or Strap?

On this beauty, I took off the bracelet right away (which I have never been a big fan of, in general) and placed it on one of our khaki coloured seat belt style nato straps where it is likely to stay for a while. This time I chose a Nato style and not one of our leather straps, and you know what? I'm so glad that I did because it suits me just fine. It really goes with everything and is a great everyday wear watch. It looks very nice overall - to be honest. Well done, Seiko!
